We’re excited to share that FolkTime’s Community Bliss Garden Social Program will open on Friday, May 28th! In our first step towards reopening in-person programming, Bliss Garden will serve as a space for Members to gather with their peers learning gardening skills, getting their hands dirty, growing healthy foods, and connecting. Members will be able to grow together through other garden activities such as art and writing. Ultimately, Bliss Garden will provide Members with a safe space to grow in community and find the support they need. The Bliss Garden Social Program will be open rain or shine every Friday from 2:00pm – 4:00pm through October 2021. Bliss Garden is located at 4827 NE Couch Street in Portland, across the street from the Portland Community in Christ Church. Water, healthy snacks, and gardening tools will be provided. For new Members, a referral is not needed. COVID-19 safety precautions will be in place and enforced, including wearing masks, social distancing, and we’ll be providing a handwashing station and hand sanitizer. Social programs like Bliss Garden are possible because of the generous support of our donors! If you’re interested in supporting our Bliss Garden, or our other social programming, you can help us best in the following ways:
- In-kind donations of gardening supplies: fruit, veggie, and perennial starters for the garden
- Gift cards to local nurseries or other stores to purchase supplies
- A monthly gift towards Bliss Garden costs: $30 would pay our water bill, $50 would provide water, and healthy snacks for Members, or $100 would pay for all supplies needed for Bliss Garden each month
- A monthly gift of any amount towards our social programs: Even as little as $5.00 (the same amount as a cup of coffee!) helps sustain these life-changing services to our Members
If you’re interested in supporting Bliss Garden or other social programs, please email Marissa, Director of Social Programs, at firstname.lastname@example.org. We thank you for your support!
