Help us in welcoming, Marissa McCormick!
Marissa comes to the position of Director of Social Programs with a humble and excited heart. Before joining the FolkTime team, she grounded her career in believing that all people deserve to live a safe, thriving, and productive life. She brings 12 years of experience working in administrative and fundraising roles with community-based, trauma-informed non-profit organizations, with a specific focus on serving children, youth, and families with lived experiences of domestic violence, sexual abuse, and human trafficking. What Marissa has most enjoyed about her career was building relationships with survivors. Learning from their experiences, seeing their resilience, and just listening helped Marissa through her own lived experiences and mental health recovery. At FolkTime, Marissa most looks forward to connecting with social program Members and working with them to re-open the programs post-pandemic and create and grow new programming opportunities for any adult in recovery seeks a safe place to build community. In her free time, Marissa loves to adventure through the world with her son Wyatt, play and write music, hike the Cascades, find and eat great food, and unsuccessfully herd her two cats, Huey and Pretzel.
